BIPOC Fundraisers Peer Group

Co-facilitated by Michelle Shireen Miri and Mallory Mitchell, two fundraising rockstars.

Between Mallory and Michelle, you can trust that this will be a space you can be yourself in, be supported in your growth and explore community centered ways of being in your own fundraising practice.

Apply to join one of our first ever Fundraisers of Color Peer Group! This cohort’s monthly sessions provide the space and structure for greater reflection and peer support. Each month covers a different topic such as inequitable fundraising practices, hiring, and working with Boards.

Details: 

  • Meet monthly from January – September
  • 90 minute sessions on Zoom
  • Monthly reading, podcast, or other preparatory activities
  • Resource sharing and emails between meetings
  • Cost of $450-$900, sliding scale

Michelle Shireen Muri

Michelle Shireen Muri is the host of The Ethical Rainmaker podcast and founder of Freedom Conspiracy, a small consultant collective bringing values-aligned practices to growth opportunities, with and for communities of color and the npos that serve them. In collaboration with her clients, Michelle practices community-centric fundraising principles and helps clients align their practices with their values, and multiply their audiences and funding. Michelle is a Co-Founder and recent former Co-Chair of Community Centric Fundraising!About Your Co-Facilitators.

Mallory Mitchell

Hailing from Alabama, Mallory has been a noteworthy leader in the fundraising space for over 12 years. She is an experienced fundraiser and takes great pride in using her natural gift for relationship-building, strategic thinking, and fundraising with integrity to provide the best fundraising education possible. She has created fundraising curricula used by dozens of nonprofits across Minnesota, and has coached more than 100 nonprofits and schools to help them build sustainable fundraising strategies. Mallory holds a Bachelors in Business Administration degree from the University of Montevallo, and a Masters of Public Policy degree from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. She currently resides in Minneapolis

After a successful pilot in 2022, Mission Launch will be expanding our disrupting white supremacy nonprofit leader cohorts in 2023 to include Executive Directors/CEOs. 

Are you a white nonprofit professional who is working to build diverse and inclusive practices within your organization? Are you working to identify and dismantle racial injustice in the sector?
